Welcome!

We are so glad you are here! Unitarian Univeralists are voices of a liberal faith.

Our Mission

Our mission is to provide a forum for liberal religious expression in an atmosphere which encourages spiritual growth and ethical living.

Worship Services

Join us for worship services at 10:00 on Sunday mornings!

From September through June, we meet at our Athens building at 112 North Main Street, Athens. In July and August, we meet at our historic Sheshequin Church on Sheshequin Road in Athens Township.

Please check the "About Us" and "Newcomers" pages for additional information you may find helpful.

When we are in the Athens building, which is equipped with a kitchen, we have a social time with coffee and snacks immediately after every service. On the last Sunday of each month, we host a "Bring A Friend Sunday Potluck." Please check News & Events for a complete list of events.

If you have any questions during your visit, please speak with anyone who is wearing a nametag!

Ours is a friendly congregation. We hope you will visit us this Sunday.

Our Unitarian Universalist Principles

We, the member congregations of the Unitarian Universalist Association, convenant to affirm and promote:

- The inherent worth and dignity of every person;
- Justice, equity, and compassion in human relations;
- Acceptance of one another and encouragement to spiritual growth in our congregations;
- A free and responsible search for truth and meaning;
- The right of conscience and the use of the democratic process in our congregations and society at large;
- The goal of world community with peace, liberty, and justice for all;
- Respect for the interdependent web of all existence of which we are a part.

Our Vision

The chalice window that graces our Athens building depicts the Unitarian Universalist symbol of a flaming chalice within two circles. The chalice is surrounded by small panes of glass arranged in a rainbow pattern. The circles represent Unitarian and Universalism. The flaming chalice reminds us of the light of freedom, wisdom and the search for truth. The rainbow border signifies us: each different but standing side-by-side.
